Who can play: Anyone !
Winter league uses a handicap scoring system where players of all ages and abilities can play with
or against each other. Summer league does not used handicap scoring but has 3 different divisions of play.
The various divisions within the GOHL are somewhat based on ability, but anyone is welcome to play in any
division. Contact us, we'll get you on a team. Or get 6 players and have your own team.
When we play: All year round.
Actually, the summer and winter leagues are completely separate from each other.
Winter plays in 2 shifts at 6 and 8 pm, Monday, Tuesday or Thursday nights, depending on class or division.
Summer generally starts at 7pm. Nights of the week may vary.
A match takes about 2 hours to complete.
Where we play:
Winter leagues play at the indoor facility located at 62nd and Grover in Omaha.
Summer leagues play at various locations all over Omaha and Council Bluffs, depending on the class.
Leagues play rotating home and away type schedules.
Match format:
Teams consist of 6 players each. A doubles format is used where each team has 2 players on each court,
one player on each end, no walking, you throw one set of shoes between the 2 players.
In winter, you play 3 games of 36 shoes per player.
In summer, you play to 50 points, unlimited number of shoes.
Cancellation scoring is used. Some classes or leagues use a handicap system to make things competitive.
What's it cost:
Because of the cost of renting the indoor space, winter costs more. It's currently $25.00 to join the league.
It cost $6.00 per player, or $36.00 per team each night of play.
Summer is $5.00 to join the league and $3.00 per night of play.
What I need to play:
You will want to have your own set of shoes although you may use your partners shoes from time to time.
You can buy regulation shoes here. Shoes cost in the neighborhood of $50.00.
Other than that, you just need to want to have a great 2 hours of fun. You'll be hooked after your first ringer!
